Decor: Fall Decor

Hi there! Drew here! Welcome back from your long Thanksgiving weekend!  It's a pleasure to be back bringing you a fall decor inspiration palette. Before we head into winter, here's what you need to know!

The colors encompassing this look are golds, teals, blues and creams. If you can see, this color scheme already provides a sense of warmth and coziness, with a spice of gold shine.

Don't forget the wood burning fire and the holiday cheer and thanksgiving surrounding you all around!

Design: Grays in Decor

Hello! November is halfway over & and the chilly days have finally arrived! Drew here, while Jen is settling into her new apartment I thought I'd bring you a hue that is sure to stand out this month & throughout winter. Gray. It's a cozy & welcoming color, exactly what we need during these holiday months.

Think of all grays, from dark to light. Using all shades of this hue is enchanting, much like an abundant snowstorm.

You'll see what I mean as you glance through each room...

Pick out key gray decor pieces to add to your living space and cuddle up with a warm blanket, a perfect read, with an espresso in hand.

Design: A Tablescape for Tea

Welcome back! Monday has arrived! How are you? I wonder.... have you EVER thought of having a tea party with friends??? Well...

Drew here, with tablescape inspiration to suit your high tea fancies.
Elegant gold and silver trays, stemware and glassware will make this tea party a sure standout. Touches of lavender and mint in the fabrics enhance the look a bit. To add the feel of an old English countryside be sure to add your charming tea set, fine china teacups and saucers, while serving up scones, crumpets, tiny cucumber sandwiches and of course the finest tea.

Design: Designer Gillian Lefkowitz

It's Drew here, bringing you another dose of design inspiration. This time, let me introduce you to designer, Gillian Lefkowitz. After seeing this California home, I automatically want to run out and search for a modern architect to build me a house that resembles this incredible home!

I love the clean and minimalistic white walls with bold, contrasting pops of color in the decor and artwork. There is an obvious modern approach, but the touches of vintage accents give it such a charming impression.

How stunning is the gold light fixture outside of the living room and the crystal chandelier in the dining room? Gives each room just the right touch of glam, that I go crazy for.

I love how each space is so open and inviting. The curtain separating the dining room and other living area is such a great way to use as a divider or opening.

Can't you just imagine waking up to such a sunny and bright kitchen?!

What a great color choice of sage green for the cabinets.

I don't even have to tell you what an incredible wallpapered accent wall that is in one of the bedrooms. High ceilings and windows are a huge plus too!

Then of course we're left with a shady and lush backyard. Spending summers out on that porch would automatically give me the itch to plan an outside barbeque and have friends and family over for a fun evening in this perfect spot!

Thanks for living through this little dream of mine through this extraordinary, California abode!

Until next time!

Design: Eye-Catching Mirrors

Hello again, everyone. Katie here, from H2 Design. I don't know about you, but lately I've been drawn toward all the eye catching mirrors scattered about the blog world. Whether wood or metal, medium or over-sized, vintage or new, attached or leaning... they can all make quite a statement (assuming you pick an interesting one, of course!).

As a plus, working them into a room is relatively easy. Just some wall space will do, maybe centered over a chest, console, or fireplace, leaning against the wall; solo, or even better, in a collection.

The reflection will pick up your existing decor and, hopefully, help the room feel somewhat larger as well.

I've collected a number of my current favorite eye catching mirrors below. We have had number 3 leaning up against the wall in our entry for some time now, and it is easily one of the most complimented pieces in our home! Do you have a favorite? Number 6 has me a bit tempted (and it only looks better in person!).

Do you have any eye-catching mirrors in your home??

Mary Magdalene Charity Design Project

Generosity is the quality my husband says he finds most attractive about me. I enjoy giving & helping those in need whenever the opportunity arises.  I also like hearing about people who take time to give back & lend a hand to those who are less fortunate.

Designer, Vanessa De Vargas has done just that with her most recent design charity for the Mary Magdalene Project. She was brought onto this project by Hartman House - a non profit company who rehabs homes in the US & in other countries.

Looking for local charities to help they reached out to the Mary Magdalene project, which is a safe home for women who are victims of sex trafficking in L.A.

The home needed a major redo - everything was OLD. Hartman House brought Vanessa in to do this project.  She, along with Jordan Cappella, completed the decor in just 4 days! Several vendors came in with donations & this was the result of their work! I can imagine this put a SMILE on so many of the women's faces.

Great job, don't you think?

Design: Blue Pagoda

Drew here, so excited to share a short art history insight with you today.

This beautiful watercolor print, having roots in China and a recurring theme in European art styles since the 17th century, has been a popular design symbol in America throughout the decades. Most consist of peaceful gardens and whimsical imagery.

The particular blue pagoda is quite striking. It can be seen in wallpaper, bedding, art and decor. There are so many outstanding and unusual pieces of porcelain and china in these patterns that are invaluable works of art on display. From the most humble of cottages to the most royal palaces over thousands of years, these are some of our most priceless examples of design.

Have a look at the modern approach we've taken with blue pagoda today:
