Hello! Kelsey from Kelsey Nicole here today. Fall is my favorite time of year for many reasons, one being that it is the perfect time to make a statement. Cooler weather allows you to wear trendy fashion items like plaid, fur, and leather, preferably not all at once. It also allows you to experiment more with makeup trends. One that I am particularly excited to try is the bordeaux lip. While a little intimidating, I think it would incredible with a simple eye and sleek ponytail. And perhaps some fur.

Hello Monday! Hope you all are doing well! As for me, today I'm prepping a few canvases for some new Cocoa & Hearts  paintings, can't wait to show you! Many of you have been asking - so stay tuned!

On another note - aren't you glad it's Fall?!!?  I am. Today is the perfect weather here in NYC & that means it's boot season.  So, if you're tired of the pair you have - I pulled together a selection of boots you may want to invest money into. As for me, I recently bought the Jimmy Choo Gem boots - they were a bit pricey, in fact I don't think I've dropped that much 'dinero' on some boots - so hopefully I'll still love them next Fall.

I figure with a classic black boot - you can't go wrong. You can pair them up with anything from skinny jeans to leather skirts.  Are Fall boots on your must-buy list?

Hi everyone! This is Sandra from Blasfemmes. I’m here to share with you a trend I personally love and wear: leopard loafers. For me leopard loafers are super versatile because they combine comfort and trendiness and although their shape is rather masculine in this particular print I consider them to be very feminine. They’re also perfect to add that little extra touch to a casual or a wear to work look. Here are some of my favorites this season:

Ok, this is not an "outfit-post blog" - but every now & then I enjoy sprucing things up & adding something different.  Sooo.....the people over at MM Lafleur sent this gorgeous dress my way as a gift. I'm so thankful....had to show you you!  It wasn't easy getting in front of the cameras again - it's not what I like to do.... So, here it goes.

I recently fell in LOVE-- with M.M. Lafleur.  From their take on a true definition of femininity to their simple, yet sophisticated style-- I was enamored from the beginning.  I definitely encourage all women to check out their collection & read their story.  I get so many emails from women all over the world telling me how much I've inspired them. But.... I too am inspired by other business women, and these two business owners are such an inspiration to me.

I'm so grateful to own a dress from their collection. The lovely dress I'm wearing, the Felisa (in sky), fits amazing- it's a size 6 & really accentuates my (barely there) curves.  This dress is perfect if you don't have a ton of hip action...like myself! ha! OK, Friday is upon us...so glad.  I need FRIDAY.  You see, I've been working so much I think my right hand is developing carpal tunnel. Not good. Anyone else out there overworking??!?

Anyhow, if you haven't heard of The 2Bandits - I'm here to introduce you to this super duper cool & unique brand. Tamar is the young designer behind this collection of jewels - she is a certified gemologist who also attended Fashion Institute of Technology here in NYC.  Her collection is pretty identifiable, with funky shapes & a bohemian/vintage style. To top it off, it's quite affordable.... ranging from $55 -$298.  The first time I spotted her jewelry was at Rebecca Taylor here in the city - I was totally in LOVE.  I tried on a few pieces & swore I'd get one the next time I went by. Well, lucky me....

To start off I’m sharing with you one of my all-time favorite trends for chic Summer looks: nautical stripes. I think it’s safe to invest in striped garments and accessories because they’ll always be a classic and they’re also extremely versatile, agree?

I love Leather skirts. In fact I'll wear leather or non- leather pieces as long as they fit well. And you?  Right now, I've noticed just about every store in New York City has leather skirts. Short minis to long ankle length leather (which is NOT my thing).  I've rounded up a few of my favorites just incase you're looking to jump into this trend! 

BEWARE though, Leather skirts are NOT cheap. My favorites are Helmut Lang & Alexander Wang - amazing, don't you think?

Clare Vivier Has been one of my favorite bag designers for over 5 years now. In fact, I remember when she was relatively new to the blog world & I came across her La Tropezienne tote. I remember asking MY HUSBAND Mat, if he could get me one for my birthday! 

So, he called Clare Vivier & actually spoke to her (at the time) telling her he was making the purchase for his girl, mua.  I also recall at one point Clare calling me back letting me know that they make everything by hand & it would take a bit to get to me. I was SO excited & in love with the bag, I didn't mind! 

Fast forward a few years later & I spot the leopard hair clutch in a small photo on their website! Before it was even available online I immediately called them myself & asked about it. They told me they hadn't even added it to the shop.... but if I wanted one, they would make one. I said YES!!! I'm happy to say, I was one of the first bloggers to have that leopard bag....it's now one of my fave clutches!

I had the pleasure of being invited to the Julie Vos showroom to view the newest jewelry in her beautiful collection. Julie launched her collection in 2006 & is a fantastic jewelry designer, with a GREAT EYE for detail! She's based out of NYC & I couldn't wait to meet her & see my favorite pieces from the Acorn collection. Her line also includes beautiful scarves as well as a few ornate clutches.

Julie was VERY pleasant & easy-going - I had already heard so many nice things about her so I decided to bring her a gift with my visit. A gold LOVE print - to match all her pretty gold jewelry! Below is an inside look at her showroom & her office space, which I loved.  She is such an INSPIRATION to me in my own business....so thankful to have met her! Here in NYC I've been spotting the floral trend in pretty much every store in town. In fact it looks like this may be in full bloom this Summer! Even though I haven't made the jump to this TREND, I'm really digging these styles below. From skinnies, leggings to trousers, they all come in floral prints these days. I can get a bit wild, but sometimes I think I'd feel like a spectacle if I was walking down the street with some bright pink flowery jeans.

 Happy Monday! its Carlinn here from Superficialgirls. With the changing of seasons in full gear there is one item of clothing that I have been finding so versatile. A cute graphic jumper can be worn with a skirt or jeans for day or night with or without a jacket and there are so many you can buy at the moment.

I just love how Blair Eadie from Atlantic Pacific dressed hers up. Adding a shirt underneath makes it less casual and pairing it with a cute flared skirt and some statement shoes makes this outfit perfect for the office or a date.

Who knew that lips would be so popular? 

Let's face it, model Lara Stone has a distinguishable mouth. Full lips & gap teeth. Apparently agencies nowadays aren't as concerned about IMPERFECTIONS. It's ok to be a fashion model & not be rejected at an agency if this if your issue. Well, it wasn't always that way. Back when I was growing up, being ETHNIC or an imperfection was 'pretty much' a stamp of REJECTION within most modeling agencies. Insane right? Things have definitely come a looooong way in the high FASHION modeling world. I'm very much aware of the few models like Lauren Hutton, Iman etc but my point is the majority of models back in the days, did 'not' have so-called imperfections & were 'not' ethnic. Very few were. Thoughts??

Glad to see that we can now see so-called imperfections about a person, as beautiful.

I'm always impressed by women entrepreneurs - their drive, ambition & their struggles to make it. I know so many women like myself who decided to take a risk & go after what they were passionate about. Perhaps it's a God-given gift they've had & never really touched upon until recently & then BAM! Their ideas & creations were realized & seen by the world. My story is very similar in the sense, that I always had passion, drive & talents I never explored. However, today, I'm experiencing the fruit of those talents which I feel are gifts from God. 

With that said, I wanted to share a different type of post & introduce you to a woman who has inspired me with her business & her boldness in her faith. Alma Meza is the founder behind the fashionable t-shirt line called pRAISE.  She believed that fashion lacked support for those who loved God (& wanted to show it).

My name is Alma Meza and I am 27 years old from Los Angeles, California. I recently re-entered the fashion world after having gone through some pretty nasty things that ultimately made me despise the fashion industry. I was forced to depart from the clothing company I built for 6 years with a partner who later betrayed me in late 2011. I was pretty lost in regards to a career path. During this time, so many other things in my life were crumbling- one of the most significant events was the death of my nephew, Sebastian. 

It seemed like it was all happening at once. I was overwhelmed, but felt God tugging at me and so I wholeheartedly turned to Him.  God revealed to me that I couldn't continue to coast through life with a casual,  superficial relationship with Him. I took a little over a year to be still, as The Lord encourages us to do. I maintained a corporate job that was stable financially, but spiritually draining. 

I started to feel that nonprofit work or speech pathology might be my next move and I began to take baby steps toward exploring each. Around this time, I started having dreams and visions about designing again, only this time the garments were showcasing either scriptures or faith related graphics. God was gently nudging me to come back to fashion, only this time with renewed purpose. That is how the idea for pRAISE was conceived. This was a result of diligent prayer and increased intimacy with God. The more I contemplated on this, the more I was being flooded by ideas and designs. I loved it all, but I was simultaneously starting to be crippled by fear. How will this be received? How can I do this all by myself this time around? Do I really want to return to this shady industry? 

All of these questions took over my thoughts for weeks until I finally realized this may very well be my calling. I decided that these concerns and doubts are silly compared to what God is able to do in and through me. I started to proceed with more conviction. 

Once I completed my designs for a collection, I was very emotional. Excited, in awe, and humbled best describes what I felt. Meanwhile, I was still working full time for a company that was starting to lose its ethical foundation. It took so much time away from my day and I was miserable there. In October of 2012, I built up the courage to step out on faith and resign from my position. I broke down in tears and utter fear. How will I support myself without income?
  
I prayed for provision and decided no matter what, I had to see this through. On January 12th, 2013, I launched pRAISE- All glory to God. My brand encompasses many of the values that are near and dear to my heart- using eco-friendly material, helping impoverished children around the world by donating a portion of the proceeds to Compassion International, and spreading God's love through fashion. This endeavor has been nothing short of incredible thus far. I've been blessed to connect with so many beautiful believers that have even thanked me for introducing this type of brand to an industry that is exceedingly being filled with dark imagery and immorality. I never imagined doing anything remotely close to pRAISE. I am publicly promoting my faith through fashion. 

I still become a bit intimidated at the thought alone, but I am reminded that I can do all things through Christ. God's ways are not our ways. I know that He is orchestrating beautiful things for my life. He took me out of darkness and blessed me with pRAISE. I am looking forward to His promises and not being jaded by yesterday's heartaches. I'm blessed and honored to be designing for His glory. When you place God FIRST in your life, there's no need to look back because you are looking forward, looking to the Alpha and Omega...and trusting in the ultimate Navigator. So here I am, allowing God to use me as I realize this Divinely-inspired dream.
