Design: Lucite Love

Hello MBG readers! It's Friday - the weekend has come. With that said, let's talk about....

LUCITE: (lu-cite, /ˈlo͞oˌsīt/, n.) A solid transparent plastic made of polymethl methacrylate. Who'd have guessed plastic could be so classy? It's Katie here from H2 Design & I don't know about you, but I am a BIG fan of the lucite craze. It is such a versatile material and can be seen working it's magic in interiors of all types, as seen below...

I've pulled together some of my favorite lucite pieces. If you don't have lucite included in your home decor just yet, I would highly suggest checking them out! A few of these pieces can get a little pricey, so be sure to additionally check out CB2's Peekaboo series to find some great wallet friendly options.

Showplace Antique + Design Center

Ok - I was on a date with my guy when we went to Showplace Antique + Design Center here in Manhattan. Let me just say, I was blown away. It's a huge 3 story location with a ton of goodies to decorate your home. It is literally a designer's dream-come-true. When we walked up these stairs (see below) & headed to the 3rd floor, we encountered aisles & aisles of OMHYGosh furniture & home accessories. This stuff is definitely sourced carefully for designers + collectors.

It's like Kelly Wearstler-good. Know what I mean? A word of caution though - bring some money with you - because this stuff will cost you. If you haven't been & need a friend to go with, let me know. I'd love to go again.

Here is the hubby looking out the gorgeous large window - not sure who is sexier, the window or him.... lol

Luxury, Vintage Furniture: FUNKYLUXE

I'm always on the lookout for unique home decor / furniture (since the move) that's one of a kind. As much as IKEA or Crate & Barrel. is ideal for all, I prefer to do a little digging to find the perfect piece. And I found FunkyLuxe to be one of my go-to luxury, vintage online furniture stores. Founders Lana and Omar Karim, hand pick each piece to be reinvented through color, textiles and of course their expert craftsmanship. Here's just a few of my favorite's below (also available for the trade).

Moving Sale ....

Hey everyone! We FINALLY decided on an apartment today. It wasn't our first choice - but it felt like it was where we needed to be versus what we really wanted. Weird, but true. Anyhow, I'll be selling some furniture & accessories that are currently in my home - simply because I need to adjust to the new living space. It's about 50 sq foot smaller than our current apartment but has a ton more amenities in the building.

Here's a list of what will have to be SOLD - I'll post more items this week!  If it's a bigger item, unfortunately, I cannot ship it. However, if you're willing to drive from another borough to New York City to pick something up - that's more than ok.

Everything is in GREAT condition - I take care of my things very well, and you are more than welcomed to come see it all for yourself. As for the white french provincial sofa, it has only been used for 9 months - but it's always covered with a large blanket. If you have questions, email me! Thanks!
